Who Is Jeska of the Earth
Hello! I’m Jeska; a painter, writer, and creative living in Northeast Ohio. My work is rooted in a deep connection to the natural world and a desire to live more slowly, intentionally, and with care.
The name Jeska of the Earth came to me during a time of change, when I was beginning a new chapter of my life and wanted a name that truly felt like my own. I’ve always felt a connection to the land. The earth has brought me a sense of comfort and belonging for as long as I can remember. The words “of the Earth” felt right because they say more about who I am than any name I could inherit.
I have loved art since childhood. Painting is the way I honor the world and has taught me to see beauty everywhere. I’m endlessly inspired by the quiet magic of ordinary landscapes: tall grasses moving in the wind, the soft edges of a horizon or a patch of sunlight on a distant tree line. My paintings are an attempt to hold onto those moments of beauty and to capture the way a place feels rather than how it looks.
Through my work, I hope to offer others a sense of connection to nature and all of its glory. Whether through a painting, a piece of writing, or a simple creative ritual, my intention is always the same: to remind us that we belong to this world; we are not separate from it.
